Off to an early start this morning and back to the 12 Apostles to see them with the sun behind us this time. Well worth the effort too.
Then stopped further up to see London Bridge and the Bay of Martyrs below.
These photos really don't do the view justice....have to see it for real to really appreciate it.
The scenery continued to impress with some spectacular views of the coastline and some entertaining roads to ride.
After experiencing the worst of Victorian drivers yesterday, we got to meet the opposite side today. A nice man in a Red Commodore with pretty flashing lights stopped us to say hi! After exchanging pleasantries and him retreating to his car to presumably check my credentials we parted company after him offering some friendly advice regarding the difference in speed signs in Victoria and South Australia. Even better I wasn't required to make a donation to the Victorian State Government. I wonder if the outcome might have been the same if we had crossed paths only minutes earlier....if you know what I mean!!
The gateway to South Australia and the higher speed limits mentioned by our friend earlier.
Lots of wide open spaces and straight roads....gotta get used to it with what's to come over the next couple of weeks .
Heading into Adelaide on the Freeway late in the afternoon made for some interesting photos. Quite a long day today doing more than 800km over a wide variety of roads from winding roads right on the coast to the long straight flat stretches in the photo above.
The tram terminus at Glenelg in Adelaide is a trip down memory lane to 30+ years ago where we first met! All a little different now to back in those days. Even legally old enough to go to the pub this time!!
Tomorrow (thursday) is a rest day before the long journey across the Nullarbor on the weekend and onward to Perth later in the week. Need to sort a couple of things also tomorrow such as send home the not required warm riding gear and also visit the Honda shop to try to repair or replace Kerrie's malfunctioning headset.
Luv the Great Ocean Road - views spectactular around every corner. So hard to capture in photo.
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a good time mum and dad. Happy Easter. Luv from Natasha
