Not too much to say today. We both had a bad night with what can only be described as upset tummies, possibly due to yesterday's lunch. Don't think it was the dinner as we had different selections from the menu. The car below belongs to one of the staff members at the motel and is available for hire for special occasions.
When was the last time you saw this....full driveway service at a petrol station!!! Guess there isn't much else happening in Manjimup...they certainly weren't too busy at this servo.
After fuelling up we headed for Perth via Margaret River and Busselton....or at least that's what we thought. Seems a slight errors was made entering the destinations into the GPS. We arrived in Busselton first when Margaret River was actually 50km back down the road...oops! Was a nice ride there though...was good to ride on roads a little less straight and boring.
Notice the plants growing wild on the side of the road below....what would they be worth in a nursery at home?
After the GPS error we decided to backtrack and visit Margaret River anyway (proof below!) Couldn't bear to get back home and have to tell my good friend and co-worker Mike Rouw I bypassed the place.
This shot is at a place called Gracetown not far from Margaret River township. Not much there but looks like a nice get away from the rat race holiday destination. Still can't get over how many place names end in "up".
Onwards then to Busselton where we stopped for lunch at the jetty which is 1.841km long, apparently some sort of record. And no we didn't walk all the way out to the end....don't go that far on my holidays!!
After leaving Busselton was a fairly boring run up the freeway to Perth arriving much later in the day than originally planned. Haven't even had time to wash the bike yet and it has to go for service and tyres tomorrow...hopefully they might feel sorry for me and wash it.
We plan to have a look around the city which is quite close to here while the bike is in the shop, then on Friday start the journey northwards up the West Australian coast. We have travelled almost 8000km in 12 days burning 460 litres of fuel so far and still have about 10,000km and 16 (maybe 18) days to get back home. Lots more long straight roads to come I feel!!
Have a look at the street name on the sign below....how hard would it be living there...i have no idea how to pronounce it but at least it doesn't end in up!
This is the best we could do for a Welcome to Perth sign.
