Day 15 - Geraldton to Carnarvon (via Denham) - 830km

Today was originally going to be another easy 500km day however we decided we would add a 300km detour to visit Australia's most westerly town, Denham, and also Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort which is WA's equivalent of Qld's Tangalooma. This meant an early start was needed so we were on the road by sunrise which is not really recommended travelling time in the outback however we fortunately encountered no problems with wildlife on the roads.

Old church we spotted as we passed through Northampton north of Geraldton.

Not too much to say about this one....just a couple of dead trees in the outback.

Overtaking road trains can be a challenge sometimes, particularly when there is two of them travelling together, takes a bloody long time to get past them.

Another one don't need to say much about...

Of course gotta have the straight road shots...these show the view in front and behind..not much different really.

Just to prove we went to Monkey Mia...

These guys found out the hard way that Statesmen's are not 4WDs...and they were actually just pulled off to the side of the road...shows how soft it is.

Made it to Carnarvon which doesn't really have a lot going for it....although did see this nice old church.

The technical problems continued today however. After Kerrie managing to fix her headset last week, mine started to fail losing one speaker early in the week and today the remaining speaker ceased working. Have had to make some temporary alterations to the communications system to get us by till we get home.
