Discovered that an error had occurred in the creating of the original itinerary for this segment of the trip. Seems that Esperance to Bunbury is about 1000km not 480km as per my planning...there must have been a bug in google maps back when i was planning as I'm fairly certain I wouldn't make a mistake like that.....hmm...I wonder if I could make a claim against them??
Before leaving Esperance we ventured down to the local public jetty to meet Sammy the Sea Lion...he has apparently been lurking around this jetty for many years and is known to take fish off the hooks of local fisherman...must be easier than catching them himself.
Stopped at a town (can't remember its name except like all towns here it ended in "up")...seems someone has made a typo in the ice sign.....
Came across this along the highway.. instead of reverse parking it's apparently called inverted parking....
Travelling further along we had to slow and pull over for this wide load....don't think it would have worked if i argued with him...
Not long after the wide load we ran into a swarm of locusts ...for about 30km it seemed as though it was like driving through a hailstorm..they were bouncing off everywhere...photo below shows some of the damage to the bike...will take some cleaning to get off.
After all the straight roads of the past week it was nice to have a change of scenery...about 180km of winding national park forest type roads before finishing in a place called Manjimup for the night where we had the most excellent dinner in the motel restaurant.
Tomorrow we head for Perth via the famous Margaret River area and a rest day while bike gets serviced and a couple of new tyres fitted.
Luv Sammy Seal he was so cute......
